Serena Williams Wins Wimbledon 2009
Serena Williams was just too much for her big sister today, as she beat Venus in straight sets 6-7, 2-6. The real difference to me was that Serena’s serve was very good she had at least ten aces. The longest match was the in the Championship game when they battled to three deuce points. Serena finally became the champ when Venus hit a fairly easy shot into the net. Serena dropped to her knees briefly in celebration, then she quickly got up to get a hug from her sister at the net. It has been six years since Serena last won Wimbledon. It is the longest break between Wimbledon championships for a woman. Congratulations Serena. I knew you could do it.
